Safety Tips On The Portland Party Bus

By Della Monroe

The party bus is an unusual yet interesting venue for parties and celebrations of those special occasions. It is more convenient than other venues because you do not have to clean up after the event. It is not a fixed address, such as a building or a centre, and it is rented for the occasion. But there are some rules of thumb that you should take into account if you use the Portland party bus. This is not about putting a damper on the party, but these rules are nevertheless sensible and should be observed.

Driving a bus is a massive responsibility. The vehicle is exceptionally large, much larger than an ordinary car. It also transports far more passengers, so the driver has a bigger responsibility than you would in your private vehicle. For this reason, there are certain guidelines that should be observed in how you deal with the driver, so as to ensure that you do not distract them or impede their driving ability.

Firstly, never argue with the driver. No matter what the driver does, or their attitude, do not try to start an argument with them. For example, if they tell you to stop doing something, stop doing it. Do not try to backchat them or explain why you should continue doing it. This is because road rage, or irritation, can cause the driver to drive badly or cause their judgment to deteriorate.

Also note that the driver is required to observe the road rules of Portland OR at all times. Do not insist on bad or illegal driving.

The party bus is associated with parties and drinking. This is in the nature of its role. However, the driver is not allowed to participate in the party and you must never offer them drinks. You may think that everyone should be involved in the festivities but the driver is not permitted to consume alcohol while on duty. Drink driving is illegal and this applies equally to the party bus. The driver will simply refuse if offered. Do not try to argue with them about this.

Low bridges are an obvious hazard. The bus is checked by traffic authorities to ensure roadworthiness, but passengers should be aware of this issue.

For example, a low bridge can be dangerous to passengers who are on the top deck of the bus and trying to rise up too high. The bus is checked by the authorities to see whether it is roadworthy, but passengers who try stunts on top of it can be seriously injured or killed.

Generally speaking, rowdy or drunken behavior is dangerous to the driving of the bus and should not be allowed to distract the driver. The bus is a party vehicle but even so you should still try to restrict yourself from impairing the driver's ability to drive the bus.
