Let Us Talk About Antique Car Storage

By Virginia Collins

It does not have to so complicated and complex. Though, there are some tips to remember and notes to take about this. Just because all you have to do is keep a very old vehicle, does not mean it is actually as easy as that. Admittedly though, this is a very effective way of protecting your investment. So we are going to discuss the best way of doing that. This article talks about Antique Car Storage.

Those classic type of vehicles are not very practical. They are an investment. They are the type you want to keep in the most perfect condition as much as possible. That could mean storing your very own joy ride a little away if needed. Or if there is winter where you are.

We see you stuffing it up with a premium kind of gas. And keeping it full too. What is that you are adding in? Fuel Stabilizer? Why? To stop excess moisture. Good thinking. We do not want this automobile to rust as we store it. That would just suck. And this car is a beauty too. It would be a shame to let it do its rusting.

Clean your automobile. What are you going to do when you go back to it and find it really dirty and infested with rats or the like? To avoid that from happening to your beloved, wax it and perform all kinds of cleaning to it. That stops it from getting smelly or getting hurt.

When you are done washing it, prep it even more by adding a box of some baking soda to its interior so it will absorb the smells. Block anything that can get pests to enter it too. To prevent any of your doors from jamming up, lube them and their hinges. Clean those tires as well. Do not use plastic to cover the car, use one breathable cloth cover.

Next is taking a look at those tires. They will be very costly if damaged, huh? Might as well fill them all up and put the car on jack stands. If we are not using it, keep this thing in the air so the wheels do not flatten or anything.

Remember to put some sort of plywood or any type of wood under your tires. When you put it into storage, the wheels will get ground rot. So to avoid that, apply those wooden surfaces below them to prevent any of that from happening.

Please remove the battery of the car. If that is corroded, please clean it as carefully as possible using a mixture of distilled water, petroleum jelly, and baking soda. Store it away somewhere above a freezing temperature.

Now, all those chores are done. It is time to store it somewhere that will guarantee its condition and safety. Maybe a place that is clean. To match its cleanliness too. And a dark spot for it will do nicely as well. Try not to get any bright lighting on it.
