Make Sure You Get A Proper Challenger Rhd Conversion Done

By Katina Brady

Changing a Challenger right hand drive conversion should be done by a professional as one will want it to look like it was made like that and not done in someone's back yard. Before any changes are made the dealerships inform the client beforehand. If one happens to get a bad Challenger rhd conversion, it will make the cars re-sale value plummet and it could be dangerous to drive on the roads.

These cars have three different generations to it and are marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler. The Dodge Challenger was made during the late 1950s and during the early 1970s, the first pony car was built. The second generation was produced during the late 1970s to the early 1980s. The last creation was introduced in 2008 and is still running.

The other side of the vehicle under the bonnet also has an access point so one can work on the master cylinder. All of the original air conditioner pipes will be used unless they are in bad shape. In some cases having to substitute a 300 Chrysler rack for the steering will be needed. A compartment might also be added for the fresh air intake system as sometimes it might be difficult to convert it to the other side completely.

An extra heat proof shield can be made to provide a bit more insulation as well as using the original manufacturer's one. The engine will need to be completely removed as a complete modification of the bell housing needs to be done. The starter motor will also need to be moved to the other side to allow the steering intermediate shaft to come through.

The interior comes with a three spoke thick rimmed steering wheel and a short six speed manual gear. The seats come in cloth or leather bucket seats making this a very comfortable car to drive. The back seat can fold down giving easy access to the trunk for those much larger items that need to be transported.

The grill was taken from a charger prototype and was popular with the public. The 1970 model alone sold over seventy six thousand but was criticized by the press. This did not help with the sales and eventually the production stopped. The 1973 model however rose and close to twenty eight thousand was sold. All in all this generation of make of car sold over one hundred and sixty five thousand.

These cars came with either a hard top coupe or a convertible body. The engine was either a V8 or an I6. The V8 is an engine with eight cylinders and they are mounted on a crankcase. They are generally set at right angles to one another with four on each side. It did tend to vibrate and in the 1920s a crankshaft with heavier counterweights were added and these tended to eliminate the vibrations.

The Challenger right hand drive conversion must be a mirror image of the original look once it is completed. Each component must be of the exact design and all changes must be carried out according to the National Code of Practise. This means that all workers must meet the health and safety requirements when doing their specific work.
