As mentioned earlier, a cycle is complete after the four pistons complete four diverse strokes. That said, the third stroke involves the piston being at the top of the cylinder dead center. The spark plug now comes into action and ignites the compressed gas, creating massive pressure that pushes the piston down again. After combustion of the ignited gas, a material is created and it is released through a different valve as the piston proceeds to get to the top dead center. The roaring and functions of the four pistons is what powers your car engine.

A stroker engine is designed to increase the stroke of an engine or rather the distance that each piston covers. Creating more distance will in return accelerate the rotating speed of the crankshaft as well as the connecting rod, generating better torque. This will also better acceleration causing the wheels of a car to rotate faster.

Cars with better torque can speed up in a heartbeat. However, this does not mean that they also have better power or even speed. During a race for instance, the car with higher torque will at first be seen to lead. However, the vehicle that has higher horsepower will come up to it and take the lead within a short while.

There are various tactics that can be used to increase the stroke. The first option is to invest in an aftermarket block deck that is longer and uniquely designed for a stroker engine. You also have the option of increasing the length of the rod joined to a piston. The third and most ideal alternative is to invest in a stroker kit.

A stroker engine can leave you counting more than a few benefits. First, you can expect better placement and therefore increased torque. Additionally, the duration needed for your vehicle to achieve top speed will be drastically reduced and you will not require a down shift to accelerate from slower speed.
