Don't Simply Dust That Waste Worn Engine Oil

By Frederick Simms

When people think about the good and stress-free life, they tend to think it terms of freedom from the outside world, discomfort and even problems such as financial aspects. If your car could speak, it would probably agree. When you consider that many metal parts in your car are rubbing and grinding each another, a temperature as high as 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit with shock of combustion and high pressure, you can easily conclude that your car is not adequately protected against friction and heat. However, the type of protection that it needs is cheaper compared to the expenses that you will spend when the engine of your car suddenly stops to function.

Car "motor" oil overall has at least two major functions even if you have a running or resting/ idling your engine. When your car is at rest, the oil slops around in an oil pan, a container that is located at the bottom of crankcase and just below the car engine. However, it is pumped by oil pumped though channels and holes in the engine when the car is running. It is actually the best reason why your engine is running smoothly while you are driving. Car oil cleans and helps the engine to provide a slippery cushion that prevents moving parts from grinding one another. Hence, the use of clean oil is also needed to maintain the above functions.

An oil filter is one of the most essential parts of the car that can be located at the bottom part of the engine. It looks like a tin can screwed into an engine block. As the oil travels from oil pan through the engine, it actually passes through a small filter, which removes some dirty and solid particles and cleans the oil. This part is taking the highest responsibility so the user should change this every time he will change the oil. Essentially, oil filters are affordable and cost-defectiveness at different auto supply shops, but pricey at service station. It is very important to check the right oil filter for your car, accurate price at your dealer's station and its status before replacing the old one.

Power plant lubrication works to keep your engine clean because of its cleansing content. Essentially, most engine oils have detergent contents, which provide flushing activities such as pushing out the muck that accumulates inside the engine parts. Aside from providing a clean engine, car oil is also maintaining your car in a good situation, where dirty materials such as black slimy stud and pebble-like particles cannot enter your engine.

Changing your car oil is easy and a fun activity, but you need to be careful in handling the tools that you are going to use. Some of them can cause injury if not handled carefully while some may cause small cuts. Moreover, you should check the new oil to be placed on your car and always discard the old one. Do not recycle or reuse.
