Do Women Sell Automobiles Better?

As long as most of us can remember, car salesmen have a reputation for being slick and dishonest. Such movies as Used Cars, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, give the impression that the only way to sell a car is to use trickery or some form of deceptiveness. Many car dealers have gone a long way in proving these facts wrong. For a long time, car salesmen have been earning their bread through commissions. If there were no commissions, then there was no way that you could earn a living therefore making it necessary to find it by any means.

The old adage let the buyer beware has been the watchword for many years. The idea was, was looking for a car, especially a used one, you had to know your stuff and make sure the person you're working with has your best interest at heart.

Though not all car salesmen are this way, there are a few in the market that make it necessary for you to be wary. Car salesman come in all shapes and sizes. Some are smooth talkers. Others give it to you straight. Still others will withhold information if you don't ask them about it. Also, there are women car salesmen alongside men. Do women make better car salesman?

It is a fact that many women are not for the idea to find a car using a salesman. However, they are less apprehensive when the salesman turns to be a woman. After all they reason she must understand what I'm going through.

Additionally, women seem to have a softer approach. This thus draws people who would have rather ran away making them better salesmen.

Women are good listeners as they also seek attention. This is the reason women prefer dealing with their counterparts.

A question that puts women down when they are buying cars is "shouldn't your husband me there with you?" With women salesman, you're not going to get that. They suppose you are in the know of what you want when you come to the lot to get a car. To add, these women have also gone through this hence know what you are going through there an then.

Women put their trust in other women and feel that they understand each other. Empathy is crucial in sales. Sales is really about emotion. Women know how to use emotion much better than men.

A lot of men get to deal with women salesmen. They are less threatened by women salesmen as they assume they know more than them. This comes at an advantage to women salesmen especially the honest ones who do a good days job and get a day's pay.
