What To Do During Your First Session For Driving Lessons

By Edna Booker

If you are given your first car, it is only natural that you get an instructor to help you get used to this. The said instructor should be the one who will be instructing one how to drive properly or how to follow the rules of the road. This is also the person who will be giving you some rules for safety to follow.

When you are on your first session, you got to be properly prepared. There are things that you are set to do to have a proper lesson. There are also things you are recommended to avoid. All of these things must be remembered when you are getting driving lessons Toronto. Here are a few of those things to remember.

First, you have to make certain that you get your provisional license. You will be applying beforehand to get the provisional license. Once one has properly applied for this provisional license, you will be receiving it in your post. Unless you get your provisional license, you cannot take your first lesson with the instructor.

You need to know what your body clock is. It will be really helpful if you personally know if you are a morning person or if you are a night person. This is mainly because you need to book a lesson only when you feel that you are at your best. You need to pick a time of a day when you know you can learn a lot.

Pay attention to the shoes you will be wearing for your sessions. This is because it will have a great impact on your learning. You must wear comfortable shoes and avoid using heels. After all, you need ones with the firm soles. You also have to avoid those with too thick shoes that prevent you from receiving feedback from your car.

Make the most out of the time your teacher spends on you. To do that, you must not hesitate to ask questions to your teacher. The teacher is there to help you learn how to drive as well as clarify things that are making you feel confused. If you do that, you may get clarification and peace of mind earlier on.

You need a progress log. Usually, it is the instructor that keeps the log on your behalf. You must ask for the progress log after a reasonable amount of time. If your instructor is a good one, you do not have to ask for this progress log. The instructor will proactively show you the progress log to let you know how much you have developed as a driver.

You should have a down time for your work. You will have no guarantee that you will have enough energy learning how to drive. Becoming peachy and exhausted at the end of your lesson is possible. You just have to spend a bit of time after every lesson to freshen up then.

Avoid panicking during the lesson. The instructor will give you the chance to handle the steering wheel. You have to calm your nerves for that. Otherwise, you will just be putting yourself as well as the instructor who is riding with you in danger.
