Dodge Dart Centerpiece Of Perfect Attendance Promotion

By Cornelius Nunev

Get perfect attendance and get entered to win a Dodge Dart. That's the rallying cry in Victorville, Calif., where Victorville Motors and local high schools have partnered in a contest that has rewarded the car dealership with sales and

Rewards for ideal work

Apparently, the It's a Gasoline to Go to Class program has been very successful. Not only has Victorville Motors seen a massive increase in the number of cars sold in the last 18 months due to the plan, it has also seen a huge increase in ideal work at participating schools. The schools have also seen a massive increase in academic performance and overall attendance.

"I had no idea how successful it would be," said 47-year-old Victorville Motors dealer principal Tim Watts.

A business that prides itself for its community involvement, Victorville Motors has elevated funds and sponsored events for numerous local organizations. When a local parent asked if the dealership had considered giving away an automobile, a light bulb went off in Watts' mind.

"It wasn't just about us. We wanted to do it as a multi-layered approach and an outreach that includes other local businesses," said Watts.

Dodge Dart and on-target results

About 15 to 20 kids in the schools had perfect work for the Dodge Dart marketing as started at Victorville Motors. The plan involved six school districts and 12 high schools currently. There are now a few hundred children with perfect attendance since the program was initiated. Victorville Motors has also seen a rise in sales. In 2012, it sold 850 new automobiles and 756 used automobiles.

If the winner is under 18, the car is awarded to the parent because minors cannot win automobiles with California law. The students who maintain a perfect work are given a golden ticket at the end of the year, so they can participate in the dodge Dart charity raffle. Pupils are also given supplemental awards such as gift cards for motivation.
